@Bad4U Both Jack Daniels and George Dickel call themselves "Tennessee Whiskey". There's disagreement on what precisely the difference is, I think both use the "Lincoln county process" that involves filtering the whiskey through maple charcoal before aging it in a charred barrel, but I think there
are also other companies using the same process and labeling their product as "Bourbon".
Oddly enough I've recently discovered that George Dickel produces several different versions of their whiskey (not commonly found in stores around here) using the same exact grain bill but aging them for different lengths of time and bottling at different proofs. One particular version is sold as "Bourbon" and is 8 years old and 90 proof. There's also an 8 year old sour mash at 80 proof and a 12 year old sour mash at 90 proof. I like the 12 year old 90 proof sour mash, do not like the 80 proof sour mash and I've never actually seen the Bourbon. As near as I can figure to only difference between the 90 proof sour mash and the 90 proof Bourbon is the age.
