I Made Someone Cry Today…

Not sad crying though, happy tears. It was cool enough to bake and I made 5 dozen chocolate chip-pecan cookies. The boy was wanting them. His best friend is a chocoholic. Anyway there were so many cookies I put about 2 dozen of them in a plastic box and told him to give them to his friend when they were going to store together. He had them in his lap and gave one to his friend. Said he was saying how good they were and tears came to his eyes. Then he asked him why he brought so many of them with him. He said “My grandma gave them to you.” And he cried even more. Kind of funny because that boy drives a sports car all over town. The boy took a photo on his phone and showed it to me, he wasn’t exaggerating.

Sometimes it's the little things that mean a lot.

@Lostpoet He really, really, really loves chocolate. And that recipe on the back of the bag of chocolate chips called for a lot of chips. If you buy chocolate chip cookies in a store, or a mix or dough they don’t have even half that much.

@cherokeepatti It was really great of you for making them for him.

@Lostpoet When they were going to a very small private school together through the 9th grade I would make banana bread or other treats to send up there. The boy said that all his friends loved that bread. I have sent banana-walnut muffins with him to give to him. Seems like he appreciates anything I bake.
