A federal judge just smacked down Trump with the rule of law. From a news article:
This is personal, because I am a federal employee, and worried my job might be the next one on the chopping block. It still could happen, since it is a long time until January 20, 2029. But at least it is paused for now.
I cannot check my work e-mail so I do not even know if I have been RIF'd. The judge's restraining order pointed out that insanity, too. I suppose they would have to mail a letter!

"The activities that are being undertaken here are contrary to the laws," U.S. District Judge Susan Yvonne Illston said. "You can't do this in a nation of laws."
Illston added that the Trump administration had "taken advantage of the lapse in government spending and government functioning to assume that all bets are off, the laws don't apply to them anymore, and they can impose the structures that they like on the government situation that they don’t like."
