@CountScrofula ok so I went to Aruba earlier this year and on the way back a guy that was apparently a "US customs agent" or whatever told me that my passport was reported stolen and that he was confiscating it.
He wouldn't explain anything about it and was going to question him more but my parents were with me at the time and kept interrupting me/trying to prevent me from going off on this guy because it didn't make any sense what was happening.
Especially because they confirmed my identity and were letting me get on the plane. Infact the guy was adamant that I was getting on the plane. I couldn't even get his name/badge because my parents were being so obnoxious thinking I was going to get arrested by this goon but that's stupid. They would not have wanted me to stay in that country, so I already knew that wasn't going to happen. Then I was told that I wasn't getting it back and had to talk to the state department.
Which dragged their feet and wouldn't answer anything about how this happened to begin with only that it "was an error". And that passport was brand new like I got it in October $300 bucks for that useless garbage.
So I decided to report it as stolen because nothing made sense about that thing and imo I'm pretty sure he just took it and illegally sold it.
Either way I'm never going to Aruba again that was extra goofy. I've been to plenty of other countries when I was younger and never experienced anything like that. It was crazy disrespectful and on top of that they acted like it didn't make sense that I didn't have the passport later on while I was in the airport. Also I got to keep my passport card which doesn't even make sense because now that I have to get a new passport it's going to be/is invalid! If my passport is "stolen" why was I allowed to keep it?
It's obvious that it was some bullshit going on.
