how did you get your liquor when you were underage?

we did it in so many ways by standing outside the liquor store and just asking people (can't believe people would actually do that) to stealing it from our parents.

but one sneaky thing we did was call up a taxi service and have it delivered. once the taxi arrived one of us would go upstairs and turn on the shower and stay there. then one of us would open the door and the taxi driver would ask for one of our parents that's when we call up "hey dad, the taxi driver needs to see you" then our buddy would call down "i'm in the shower, just give him the money that's on the foyer table next to my car keys".... worked every time 😈

When I was in college At bars or clubs I always got let in and usually people bought me drinks.
lissah · 36-40, F
I had some guy friends that were 21 so i had no problems getting alcohol
@lissah we would sometimes have the oldest looking girl in our circle of friends (usually the prettiest one) and she'd deck herself out dressed to the nines and all made up. that worked too as long as the clerk was male. legal age here is 19 but they were between 15 and 18. but nowadays that wouldn't fly as clerks are id happy than they were in the 80s
@lissah I once got carded when I was forty one.
@NativePortlander1970 i got carded on my 40th birthday in scottsdale az at a spring training baseball game 🤣

We just went to Hot Rocks. It was a local bar that never asked for ID. I started going at 14. The whole school was going lmao
@Jenny1234 i remember some of the girls in school being allowed in to night clubs...the bouncers let them in no problem...just not us juvenile drunken males 🤣

Were you on the rocks, or did you get the rocks off? 🤔

My friend took me to some semi-hidden bar when we were 16 and we got drunk around 3-4 PM. 🤦🏻‍♀ I was really surprised the lady who served us had no problem with it.

Btw. I don't like liquor, I only accept it in mixed drinks now (okay, haven't had one in many years) and often actually think that maybe they would be better without alcohol.

There was a guy in our neighborhood who was older than all my friends and I and he used to keep us well supplied.

I usually went in the shop and bought it as I was the oldest looking one in the group so I'd get a few free beers for my troubles.

We used to take our bikes over the bridge accross the border to Quebec. There was a store there "depanneur" that would serve anyone.
@JimboSaturn loved the depanneur when i visited my brother in quebec

Order some from a pizza place along with the food. Never gave me crap about it. Things were much simpler then

I grew up in the rural south and lived in a dry county. We would just go to one of the bootleggers. While they did sell moonshine they also sold bonded spirits, wine and beer from an out of county liquor store. I don't remember the price but you could get a half pint of whiskey pretty cheap. They didn't care how old you were. The cops were paid off to turn a blind eye.

Their doors had a peephole something like the one below. You hand the money in. They hand the booze back out. You never see their face unless they know who you are.

Raid the bar in our "finished basement" my parents rarely drank so they weren't really keeping track. I noticed my son was raiding this fancy vodka bottle that was a gift, so I dumped it out and refilled it with water 😂 We laughed about it years later.

I was surrounded by alcoholics, easy peasy
hunkalove · 70-79, M
And now you waste precious time on an electronic device.
@hunkalove and it still drives me to drink
My mother's second husband always had liquor, him and his friend were always encouraging my older brorthers and me to join in, uber religious hypocrites.
