I went on a driving tour of the USA for almost a year. Somewhere in the Midwest, I stopped at a gas station for fuel and another car pulled up oh the other side of the pumps. A man got out and got the pump started. He saw my PA license plate and struck up a conversation.
When our cars were full, he suddenly said, “I’m going up to my place in the hills to make breakfast. Wanna join me?”
I courteously declined. I was feeling adventurous but not stark raving mad. We shook hands and I started my car. As I drove past him, he said, “I’m gonna miss you.”
I thought that was a little weird.
