Latest acquisition

I got these because I've heard good things about them. None of them are available around here so I had to order them by mail.

Laphroaig Càirdeas (it means friendship in Scottish Gaelic) Lore Cask Strength is an annual release from the Islay distillery. This is the 2025 release. Lore is aged in several different types of casks, and bottled at 59.6%. This is the most expensive bottle I've bought so far, $110 and only 700 ml European size rather than the typical 750 ml normally sold in the US. If you want any of this, you'd better hurry as there aren't many of them.

Paul John Nirvana is an unpeated Indian whisky, compared to the Laphroaig it will be much milder and less challenging. I'm not a newbie but this is supposed to be a good starter single malt.

Sotol is similar to tequila but made from a different plant. Most sotol is from Mexico but Desert Door is made in Texas. I've never tried sotol so I'm looking forward to this.

Caol Ila is also from Islay but mildly peated and more balanced than the Laphroaig. Most of the distillery's output goes into Johnnie Walker to impart that element of Islay brininess.
