mayday, mayday....sos.... beery is gonna need some help...

various sectors of one of our largest union in bc are on strike. one of them is the liquor board. they distribute the liquor to various government and private liquor stores. shelves at private liquor stores are emptying fast. i think beer is distributed through a different distributor so i think beer will be ok, but then because liquor can't be bought beer will be scooped up quickly....and i just can't do artsy fartsy craft beer.

so if you're coming to bc bring booze band pop in for a visit. i thought about just crossing the border into the states (just 15 minutes from home) but since the us government is all messed up i heard travel is gonna be a nightmare

@Jenny1234 true. but there will be less customs agents working and it won't be cheap with the extra duties

@beermeplease less agents but only a handful of cars crossing these days compared to the dozens there used to crossing at any given moment before the tariffs.

@Jenny1234 yeah...actually last saturday one of my colleagues crossed at 9am and only had a 20 minute wait. and that was at peace arch, our busiest crossing

@beermeplease 20 minutes? I know all the Canadians are going to hate me but I’ve crossed a few times since tariffs were imposed at Lewiston NY and there is zero wait time. Just drive up. No one is crossing

@Jenny1234 Yes Lewiston is where I usually cross. I used to go on weekdays, and I would only wait 20 min I think.

@JimboSaturn look at this part of the states...we should close the border and they'd be stuck getting back to the mainland...or they would have to build a ferry system 🤣
