There should be a case study dedicated to me.
When I became old enough to drink, at first, I thought I couldn't get drunk because of my high metabolism. Eventually I realized I can get drunk but it's an uphill battle. I have to be very food-deprived and drink heavily. And even then, it wares off astonishingly fast. I'll gulp some alcohol, feel drunk for 60 seconds, and then it goes away.
Over a matter of many hours, I can manage to get drunk. I can sometimes get hammered. But it goes away in one hour.
I remember drinking a 3rd of a bottle of pure vodka and then 2 hours later, driving to a restaurant 100% sober. Again, this was on an empty stomach.
Basically, I can get drunk but I have to try very hard.
