To luncheon or not?

So a few days back there was an announcement about a Haitian luncheon. The paraprofessional asked the teacher in charge of the luncheon "Who was providing the food?" and the teacher said "Her and the custodians." Then I heard the paraprofessional say something under her breath close to "Oh lord,I don't know those people etc." I was sitting there thinking to myself that if she participated then that can be the chance for her to get to know the custodians. Also majority of the time when we go to resturants old or new....we don't necessarily know the people who cook our meals but we take a chance and eat it right? I mean hey we read ratings here and there or through word of mouth that this place or that place serve good food etc. What's so different about the custodians cooking a meal? I mean I guess the only thing is that there is no Yelp.com provided for the paraprofessional to know if the custodians food is good or not lol. I guess she was expecting the food to be delivered by a restaurant. In the end I don't know if she went to the luncheon but if I had to guess....she didn't. I went once I left a training and the food was delicious. Now my question is if custodians and one teacher planned a luncheon would you join in or pass because custodians that you don't know are cooking the meal. If so why or why not?

You don't know their personal hygiene practices is what I'm thinking...cooks in a cafeteria have to take food handler classes and get a permit. I stopped going to potluck dinners due to certain people's nastiness.

@cherokeepatti: Yea that is what I was thinking as to why she possibly didn't go to the luncheon. But hell we don't even know the personal hygiene practices of chefs/cooks in those 5 star restaurant kitchens lol.All in all she missed out.

@OpalFlower: I saw a custodian clean a toilet with her bare hands and a scrubby pad and not even wash them, she dried them on a paper towel and then sat down and ate her lunch in a public area...and was always complaining about having to go to the doctor for diarrhea. That kind of thing makes me wonder about people.
