Touch choice. Sauerbraten with bread or raw potato dumplings is quite an excellent combination. Though I also quite love making carnitas out of leftover slow-smoked pork shoulder, save the drippings and juices from the smoking and then use them to fry the leftover shredded or unshredded pork with some mexican spices for the ultimate burrito filling.
