with tomato sauce.🍅
Jenny1234 · 56-60, M
Yes my mom made it once in a while when I was a kid
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Jenny1234 Once. Wow.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, M
@Zonuss that’s not what I said
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Jenny1234 Once in a while. I see.

All looks delish!😋
Zonuss · 46-50, M
I’ve made both these meals for my kids before and they love them I’m not a huge fan of it as it’s a very heavy food but it’s quick and easy for those long days.

All however hamburger helper is absolutely nasty. Why ruin a perfectly good goulash?
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Zonuss I absolutely have and the recipe has changed since the 70s. My mother used it in goulash and it was good. Sometime in the 2010s General Mills changed the recipe and it has been nasty ever since.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Gibbon General Mills. 😂

I'm talking about real Southern homemade hamburger helper.
By someone who knows how to make a real dish. Not that box crap. 🙂
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Zonuss WTF? That's a real recipe. Who calls that hamburger helper? Your descriptions need work.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
A long time ago, when I was new to cooking, I used Hamburger Helper sometimes. I thought it was good.

But I have become a better cook since then, and the last time I tried the stuff I said "never again!"
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@DrWatson It depends on how it's made.😛
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
This first two look great. Nothing else need be added. Hamburger Helper usually needs help. Cumin, hot sauce, tomato sauce or cheese takes HH from corporate to edible.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Crazywaterspring

It can be made in many ways.
ArtieKat · M
I'd never heard of "Hamburger Helper" - but Google says
Because Hamburger Helper is essentially just a cheesy or creamy beef-and-pasta casserole, British cooks generally prefer to make it from scratch to avoid preservatives.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@ArtieKat Americans .make it from scratch also.
