Food on the ICE train to Amsterdam

I didn’t have time this morning to make a sandwich even though I had been able to get my favourite rye bread from the store near Willem’s apartment. I forgot to bring it, so I’m going to have to rely on whatever is available on the train.

ICE trains from Berlin to Amsterdam (operated by Deutsche Bahn) typically feature a BordBistro or BordRestaurant serving hot meals, snacks, sandwiches, coffee, and alcohol.

While 1st class passengers can order at their seats, 2nd class passengers usually buy food at the counter, with options available on most ICE services. Expect currywurst, soups, sandwiches, cakes, and pasta.BordBistro: Located in a designated car, offering standing and seating areas.

Staff may take orders directly at your seat, if you have a first class seat, often via the ICE Portal. While ICE trains usually have catering, services can sometimes be limited.

It is recommended to check specific train details on NS International or DB.It is permitted to bring your own food and drinks on board.
