Just the black licorice.

it's flavored with anise oil which is a digestive herb, I bought a tiny vial of anise oil that is sold for confectionery and use that instead or chew on some seeds.

@cherokeepatti: No wonder I like anise flavored hard candies too.

@SweetMae: I imagine they were first sold in general stores and pharmacies as medicine....horehound candy was another candy my grandpa liked, very bitter but it can be good for a sore throat and also digestion if it's that bitter.

@cherokeepatti: I remember those. Haven't seen any lately though. Do you make candy?

@SweetMae: No not much anymore...I used to make nut brittles and fudge but not any more. Not eating sweets now, I just saw the display of flavored candy oils and wondered if they could be used for healing if they were natural and not artificial, and they are very compact so I can bring them in my purse when I need them.
