Yes, who eats cold porridge???
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@HootyTheNightOwl apparantly porridge is american breakfast, but any kind of porrige is considered dinner, not breakfast food (and certainly not cereal) here in Norway 🙈
@TheRealBarbossa Oddly enough... I am not American... 🤭🤭🤭
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@HootyTheNightOwl ah, a britlandian. Only one hour difference from me.

Doesn't change the fact porridge is considered dinner here tho.

Unless it's oatmeal. That's a breakfast here.

My wife regularly prepares her oatmeal in the microwave.

@TheRealBarbossa

In the U.S., oatmeal is referred to as "hot cereal". But I get what you are saying.
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@DrWatson I never heard that before. I learned something new today aswell 😊
@DrWatson Canada too, apparently.
StygianKohlrabi · 46-50, M
I don't even eat cereal. that's even cheaper.
No. 😵‍💫 I saw an extreme cheepskate from UK that was microwaving it with some water
I have with oatmeal or Cream of Wheat.
@TheRealBarbossa Like what ?
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@bijouxbroussard crepes. (Hear me out!)

That's a typical Norwegian dinner, which we call pancakes. They're usually served with bacon and sugar and/or blueberry jam.
@TheRealBarbossa I understand. We have sweet crepes with fruit and sometimes whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
or savory crepes with meat or seafood and veggies.

Personally, I’m more likely to have the sweet ones for breakfast, savory for lunch or dinner.😊

lol I can imagine doing it for oatmeal with instant oatmeal but not cereal
I’m wondering if they mean something like oatmeal.
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@DDonde no, it was cereal. Looked like froot loops or something like that in both cases.
DDonde · 31-35, M
@TheRealBarbossa Wow yeah I’ve never heard of that haha
bowman81 · M
I have been known to nuke oatmeal when in a hurry and I don't want to mess with cleaning pots as well as the bowl and spoon. 1 1/2 minutes, toss in a handful of blueberries and good to go.
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@bowman81 so far everyone's mentioned oatmeal, but my Norwegian butt doesn't consider that cereal.

See the other comments for further explanation.
bowman81 · M
@TheRealBarbossa Well I'm of Norwegian ancestry and we consider it cereal. LOL.
Sounds like you eat a lot of breakfast foods for dinner. Pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs.....all breakfast food here. Cereal too. Ever try biscuits and sausage gravy? Another breakfast food.
Wait you eat it for dessert? Just kidding. I suppose it is all what you are used to.
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@bowman81 You're right. We do consider all of that (except cereal) as dinner foods.

Never had bisquits and gravy, nor will I ever try it now that I'm a pescetarian and know the gravy has bone broth in it.

On a different note: your comment makes it sound line you took offence to my comment, which is unfortunate.
I only want to learn more about other countries and cultures. It's never my intention to attack them.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Only oatmeal
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Uh never.☺
