Are you good at eating your veggies?

I don't hate greens but they just don't have the same appeal as bread. My mum keeps her bread in the freezer and only eats it once a week, if that. I put mine in the freezer too but then I hear it calling me from the living room.
I'm sorry I am not a fan of avocado toast, so it has to be:
Cheese on toast.
Black cherry jam on toast.
Marmalade on toast for breakfast.
Baked beans on toast.
Heinz tomato soup.
Then there is bread pudding - no, not bread and butter pudding. A far cry from it and one thing I loved growing up.

The real McCoy.

Buttered Toast and any type jam, marmalade, jelly, peanut butter, yum yum.

And bread pudding until I had to start eating wheat bread I made bread pudding frequently with the raisins, now that's real old school.

But I love my veggies too, greens flavored with salt jowl - buttered corn / peas - candied carrots - and all the rest, with the exception of cauliflower and eggplants (not sure if eggplant is a fruit or vegetable).

@Charity I forgot all about buttered toast! I didn't know they had bread pudding outside of Britain, I alway thought it was a UK thing!

Oh yes, here in Houston we did bread pudding too. After all Britains were are the colonizers of this land.

@Charity I didn't even know it went back that far. I love mine with custard but not sure if many do.

I always thought bread pudding came from the native Indians. I never knew it was a British cuisine until now.

I'm an old gal and most of my family lived well into their eighties. My grandmother died in 1989 at the age of 108 and she made bread pudding. It was cheaper than baking a cake or pie and more filling along with a nice cool glass of whole milk.

Question: we had a lot of tea cakes also is that a British cuisine?

@Charity Yes, we have teacakes and also muffins, or English muffins and not the ones with chocolate chips or blueberries although they are sold here too. We also have crumpets you might have heard of, they look very spongy with holes in the top meant for soaking up butter.

Crumpets, looks tasty and it's American version called waffles 🤔😊.

I had to look it up; reports say tea cakes did originate in Britain, early England and we have the Americanized teacakes,
