My brain can't function without a lot of carbs. I would probably eat that with a buttery sweet potato🤭.

@Selah it has a small amount of quinoa underneath the stir fry
@Justmeraeagain Great?

Again, just be careful you're eating enough calories. You'll take out organs if you do not.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Magicianzini grains are usually quite calorie dense but they rise your blood sugar a lot slower than white rice for example
@Magicianzini 😂....such a silly thing to say 😂
@Justmeraeagain Yes, I know .. but your serving size is so small that my mind is assuming you eat like that for all meals and in that case, unless you're 10 yrs old, you probably aren't getting enough calories.

This is why I said just be certain. Most human bodies require at least 1200 calories a day but you'll want to look up what your particular needs are.

Maybe I'm not seeing a high-caloric dressing. Maybe you don't eat like this for all meals. I don't know LMAO. I'm just looking out for you though and making sure .. just in case.
@OogieBoogie I literally would starve to death if I ate like that. Not silly at all. My body requires 2300 calories a day just to survive.

Surviving can be silly though. I admit.

@Magicianzini
I have taken nutrition classes and the stir fry isn't as little of a portion as it looks like.
A high calorie dressing would be full of sugar and since I'm a diabetic would really cause a problem for me.
All the portion sizes are correct and I have to do carb counting.
I do eat carbs- I just don't eat empty calorie white carbs.
@Magicianzini The thing is you are guaging others requirements on your own.

99.9999% of nutritional studies are done on mens systems.
Women are actually classified as 'small men ' when calculating their nutritional needs.
Modern studies have shown how incorrect this "assumed equation" is.
We have different hormonal levels, different hormonal cycles and different body tissue ratios.

Then there is menopause - a whole different kettle of fish.

And then.... we have the individual needs that are unique to each person.

Not to mention the fact that a body burns decrepit cells, visceral fat, adipose fat and then muscle, in that order, before it gets to organs.

I myself just went on a week long water fast and didnt lose a single bit of my bodily weight during the whole process.

I understand your caring and caution, but her meal size has most likely been well calculated to suit her.
I eat omad and would have a similar sized meal, but without the side dish.... and has done me fine for years.
And i work a physical job.
...i eat 800 - 1000 calories a day. Any more and i put on weight🤷‍♀
My sister is exactly the same.

Gender, age, as well as state of microbiome and metabolic rate are all important factors that affect what energy and how much, someone needs😏

Men have on average 30 - 40% more muscle tissue than women, and muscle burns energy at rest.
Women have roughly 10% more bodyweight in fat than men.... and it doesnt burn energy.

Nutritional standards for women have been grossly incorrect for women for ....well, since evah😂

Even digestion and absorbtion rates for macros and such differ between genders...
...so too much, all at once, isn't good for women as our body will turn the excess to fat.
So we need smaller amounts with time berween, to utilize them for maximum benefit.
@OogieBoogie Too long ... read the first line though. Nope, just looking out for someone else. Some don't know or may have issues with food etc.
@Magicianzini well that's just deliberate "unknowing".

And yes.....i agree, 'some' don't know.

I bet you're young also 🤔
Which means your comparison is so far off ....it doesn't correlate.
@OogieBoogie Indeed.. but I wouldn't blame anyone. Things can get complex for everyone sometimes.
@Magicianzini im not blaming anyone....sheesh!

Im trying to clear up an incorrect statement.

You evidently dont know much about an experienced womans nutritional needs, but are comparing it to a mans... who is most lilely young:

Two totally different metabolic extremes 🤷‍♀
@OogieBoogie I didn't say you were blaming anyone LMAO.

No, I do know women's needs are lower .. but not that low either. If she ate like that for each meal, she wouldn't even meet an adult female's caloric needs. That's why I spoke up.

And I will continue to speak up if I think someone will be harmed.

@Magicianzini There fine, they're the right portions, I have to be careful, because I'm diabetic.
I have protein, small amount of fat, vegetable, and grain.
That is the nutritional guidelines for diabetics.
And the stir fry looks smaller than the real portion, but it is the right portion.
@Magicianzini ahhh, so you know a mature womans dietary needs more than she does?

By your previous statements and lack of abilty to read anything longer than paragraph - you have just shown how wrong you are.

Omg🤦‍♀

Yeah whatever man.🙄
@Justmeraeagain im the same - i dont eat most white foods: rice, flour, pasta, bread etc. They just aren't nutritionally high enough on the scale per joule of energy supplied.
Full of empty, glucose raising starches.

It's amazing what a clean diet that suits your system can do for not only your health....but your brain and well being too.

@OogieBoogie
Well, like I mentioned in the first post-I'm just getting back to it.
While, and 6 months after, my husband was dying, I wasn't very careful what I ate.
My sugar levels went way up and I gained weight.
I guess the moral of the story is you really can't tell what's going on by a picture someone posted.
I don't think there's been a time in my life when I ate too little.
Correct portions do look small if you're used to just eating whatever you want.
I actually take out measuring spoon and cups to get the right portion and sometimes, I allow myself a little bit more if it's low enough in carbs.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Selah I'm not against sweet potatoes they have a lot of nutrients to them.
I would probably just eat a smaller one or half of one.
