there are hundreds of wine grape varieties just in the Eurasian Vitis vinifera species (my preference), and I love too many of them to choose just one or a few as favorites, in any berry skin color or any finished wine color
name a grape and I probably like it or love it, from Portugal to Georgia (the country), and I still have "bucket list" grape varieties I have not yet been able to try, like susumaniello from Apulia, and countries I've not yet tried which also have their own indigenous grape varieties, like like Bulgaria and Armenia for example (well, I've had Armenian brandy but not their wines)
even within individual countries like France and Italy, I literally love the individual varieties synonymous with each region of those countries, at least the varieties I've been able to try so far (and I still haven't tried some of the more obscure grapes ... there are so many varieties some are sadly faced with the possibility of extinction, mainly because most consumers can't really imagine drinking more than a couple of different grape varieties, and organizations like Wine Mosaic exist to try to prevent extinction and preserve the vast diversity of wine grape varieties)
my favorite thing to read are books like Godforsaken Grapes by Jason Wilson (as well as adjacent topics like Amaro by Brad Thomas Parsons)
