I have to throw all my sodas out.

I noticed a couple of small sticky spots and upon further investigation found out a soda must have ruptured. I'm sure all of these have expired. I didn't think about the expiration date before stockpiling these. Glad I recently rediscovered coolaid.

Sugar and acids don't expire. Neither does water. It's more a "sell by" date.

@IronHamster I read on google that over time the acids in the soda can eat away at the can lining.

@minoltaguy Cans should all have a thin lining to protect the aluminum from the acid. If a can is damaged that lining can be compromised.

Scary experiment. Have you ever put a penny or a nail in soda and watched what happens over a few days?

@minoltaguy the cans are lined with plastic.

@IronHamster I will have to try that experiment.

@cherokeepatti I had a total of 8 sodas that failed. Both boxes were on top of eachother. The top box had 4 sodas empty but still sealed. The bottom box had 2 sodas empty but still sealed and 2 more sodas that had about an ounce still in them but still sealed. The leak caused some serious mold to grow and my carpet cleaner will have to work overtime to remove the stain on the carpet.
