A & W has the best flavor. I wish they would make the diet version with stevia. Root beer has a health benefit and that is chromium, which is created from the brewing process. Adding sugar to it negates the benefit because chromium helps with insulin production and sugar depletes chromium.
@cherokeepatti I myself prefer root beer with a spicy bite over sweet.

@NativePortlander1970 well they make ginger root beer that has a kick
@cherokeepatti Ginger beer is a bit too spicy for me, plus, I'm not really a fan of ginger.

@NativePortlander1970 I love Reed’s Extra Ginger Brew. You can feel the ginger all the way up your nose, it’s that strong. The boy loves it too.
@cherokeepatti Good for a transoceanic cruise if you get motion or sea sickness.

@NativePortlander1970 I bring ginger candy when I travel. Also helpful for if you think you have gotten stomach flu.
@cherokeepatti I got a 12 pack of ginger ale in cans to combat chemo nausea last July, still got eight cans left.

@NativePortlander1970 I have some sugar free Reed’s in cans. Haven’t needed it and they don’t sell it at Winco any more, they had a good price on it and I should have stocked up when they had it.
@cherokeepatti Sugar free 🤢 Artificial sweeteners give me instant migraines, they're my msg.

@NativePortlander1970 No it has stevia in it, it’s only stevia and nothing else like sugar alcohols added to it. MSG makes me have heart palpitations, it crosses the brain barrier. Having sufficient magnesium levels will stop it from doing that. But it’s still toxic and I avoid it.
@cherokeepatti Stevia gives me a rash
