I don't feed wild birds or other wildlife. What I have likely isn't good for them and should they grow dependent on what I give them they may well starve to death should I be away for any length of time. I do love birds though. So cute and so often funny to watch. I watched a magpie bury something in the snow just before a raven came to steal what ever it was the magpie had. The raven couldn't find what was hidden so it left. The magpie came right back but I couldn't find its treasure either.

@hippyjoe1955 not in most places people live, we're their best sources and there are lots of other people doing it! They don't die off each time one of us dies. Feed as many as you like, be consistent and don't worry about what happens if you croak.
A lady gives rice and bread two blocks from where I feed peanut butter sandwiches to the starlings - their moms teach them to forage on their own by flying them back and forth, and walking them past the food until they feed themselves - and then they know how to find other people with food.
