We are spoiled in many ways. But I don’t like salmon OR avocado. Blueberries, yes,
Is it your position that everybody gets gruel to eat until EVERYBODY can afford Wagyu beef?
There are myriad reasons why food is wildly expensive, and why people eat what they eat. There are also many who can’t buy blueberries, not because they are somehow oppressed… but drugs and alcohol are costly. Or they pay double price to buy food that somebody else made and have it delivered. Even coffee at Starbucks. Or they have more children than they can afford.
My income hovers just above the poverty level, due to my own poor financial decisions. But I can, if I need to, get more from food banks. I haven’t done that for years now because I figured out how to make ends meet.
I don’t think anybody owes me salmon and avocado OR blueberries.

@Mamapolo2016 I don't have a position, this post was just random. 😅

@Mamapolo2016 I was just ordering food online, and bought salmon as well as some other expensive things, and my husband playfully called me spoiled, hence I wrote this post. 🫣

@Mamapolo2016 Sorry for your situation. We have a community hub very close to where I live which distributes excess food for free - not means-tested, available to anyone. I visit about once or twice a week, and am usually amazed what I come away with. There's always loads of bread and potatoes but I limit myself on those because of my diabetes. This week I've had asparagus, avocados, corn on the cob, bananas, sweet peppers, pepperoni and gorgonzola, among other things. Saves me a fortune!

@ArtieKat Thank you. My situation needs no sympathy, though. I’m doing just fine. The more rich people I see and hear, the more I like being poor.
