It’s strange that there’s a setting on every toaster to burn the bread

Right after high school, I worked as a grill cook at a breakfast joint, and we had a customer who always wanted his toast to basically be charcoal briquettes. As soon as he’d walk in the door, I’d drop toast for him, because it took 4 times in the toaster before it was burnt enough for him.
