So one of my ladies has 40lbs of onions.

So I assumed she was going to make some food for our disaster relief drive at church. She said no. I said what are going to do with 40lbs of onions then??? She said said they're VIDALIA onions!! Looking at me like wtf. So I said ok, what are you going to do with 40lbs of VADALIA onions??
She cooks them & eats them with just butter. 🤷‍♂ So she's going to eat aaallll those VADILIA onions herself!!!

@Tumbleweed Well all the memebrs of the onion family are meant to be good for you, and alongside the edibles are the alliums which can be fantastic decortative plants...

@Captain And I just googled and... didnt know this about alliums

"Allium is a large genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants with around 1000 accepted species,[4][5] making Allium the largest genus in the family Amaryllidaceae and amongst the largest plant genera in the world."

"Astragalus is the largest flowering plant genus, with more than 3,200 species, including Astragalus agnicidus....Astragalus is commonly known as milkvetch or Huang Qi. The genus Astragalus includes over 3,000 species, many of which are called milkvetch. In some regions, particularly in North America, certain Astragalus species are also referred to as locoweed or goat's-thorn. Healthline notes that Huang Qi is the traditional Chinese name for Astragalus, and it's a well-known herb in Chinese medicine. "

Dont think we get that one in the UK - leastways I've not heard of it before.

autoimmune diseases
Because astragalus might worsen symptoms of autoimmune diseases, people with autoimmune diseases should avoid using astragalus. Also, astragalus may interact with medications that suppress the immune system.

Sorry gone a bit off topic here - but yes astragalus sound like an interesting genus as well.
