Has it moved its company headquarters or something?

Otherwise quite what that pretentious lump of management-ese is meant to mean is for Mr. Gibbs to explain, as is what he is trying to do, but that's going to cost the company a fortune. It would need change all its the signs, menus, packaging, business letter-heads, supplier account, banking, insurance and company-registration details, etc. in all its branches around the world.

I have no idea how many branches there in the UK alone, but though it must be far fewer than in its own nation they and their rival junk-food chains still seem to infest most town-centres and motorway services.

Then there is the question of confusion and persuading customers (of whom I am not one) to use the new name.

All for what?

Let's get something straight. Church's Chicken is a fried chicken chain in the US. It actually began close to the Alamo in San Antonio. That same fried chicken company is branded as "Texas Chicken" overseas.

@Crazywaterspring So is this a case of people confusing two companies or is KFC changing its name? It seems odd to use one close to that of a competitor, for its overseas outlets.

I haven't had that stuff in over 20 years. I've heard it isn't very good anymore.

@hunkalove I didn’t know that there was a Denver Texas lol
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@specman Yep. Small town.

@hunkalove that’s pretty wild!
Either way I never really liked the product. When I’d rather cook it myself, "fast food" has failed as an option. 🤔

@bijouxbroussard It's not as good as it used to be, or I have changed. It's really expensive and it just doesn't seem to have the flavour it used to. The pieces are also smaller. Not good value.
@JimboSaturn Honestly, I didn’t like it when it first became popular here. The folks would get it, I’d give my brother my chicken, he’d give me his potatoes & corn. There was a brief time when KFC offered grilled chicken and that I would eat. I don’t think they offer that option anymore, which is a shame.

Capitalism at its best. No emotion, no human empathy, just pure financial considerations (greed).
markinkansas · 61-69, M

JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
