@OldGrandDad I haven't had a bagel in ages because Philadelphia brand is almost $3 a brick where I currently live, I am very brand loyal as I'm not a fan of most generics.

@NativePortlander1970 I only eat Philadelphia as well. I have no idea of cost - my wife does the shopping. And she knows what I like.

@OldGrandDad I can guarantee that if you went with her even one time, and saw the prices, your jaw would drop.

@NativePortlander1970 I go about once a year. Make that went. Probably stopped around 4 years ago. She says it costs twice as much when I go. A claim I cannot honestly dispute.

@OldGrandDad Many items way more than twice as much.

@NativePortlander1970 To be honest, as long as my bills get paid I don't worry over it. Nothing can change by my worry.

@OldGrandDad Being on disability fixed income it's a bit tougher for me.

@NativePortlander1970 I was there until last September. But I do have the benefit of a military retirement. Plus lower prescription costs. It helps a lot. My military healthcare picks up most as secondary that Medicare doesn't cover for doctors and hospitalization.

@OldGrandDad I was unable to enlist, my lower left leg was surgically repaired with a double compound fracture, when I tried when I was 20 in 1990 I chose armorer as my MOS.

@OldGrandDad My Dad was a US Base mess hall cook from 1965 to 1969, honorably discharging as head Sargeant ten days after my older brother was born.
