I still love Spaghetti and Meatballs! An Italian American dish though, not really done in Italy. Though there are slightly similar dishes (tiny meatballs in a baked pasta). They don't pair regular meatballs with pasta
I saw an Italian chef pair Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes! It was a revelation making it! So good. In this pic I also had Rapini.
At Christmas my inlaws do Scandinavian meat balls and mashed potatoes for one side and Italian sausages and peppers with red sauce for the other side but inevitably all the food gets mixed on the plate and red sauce and sausage totally goes with the potatoes.
