Do you think even though I put a bunch of sugar on my grapefruit, it's still better than not eating it at all?

I say I'm still getting whatever nutrients it provides. I've been craving it ever since I had a bad sickness. Which I think was either bronchitis or pneumonia

Grapefruit is a valuable source of quercetin and likely you were craving that. I ate more grapefruit the first 6 months of last year than I did during my entire life before that. I cut back on supplements including quercetin is likely why. I starting taking it again after it got hard to find grapefruit and the craving stopped. Combined with zinc it helps with inflammation in the lungs.
@cherokeepatti I miss grapefruit, I used to peel and eat it like an orange, it messes with my blood pressure med :(

I like salt.

A level teaspoon of sugar has only about 16 calories. A couple of spoonful's or so really helps the taste of the grapefruit taste.

Perhaps, but the sugar really cuts the real flavour!
