Drink more water in a cup
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@SW-User Thanks. only issue is I'd have to keep going all the way down a bunch of stairs.

How about a cooler? Ice in a cooler lasts for days. I used one in my jeep when I went to Texas. You can also freeze water bottles. The plastic ones. Take out as needed. Fruits like watermelon, cantelopes, and the like are mostly water. Best wishes.

@PoetryNEmotion Thank you,

Someone mentioned Yeti, I second that.
Ice will stay for hours.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@iamnikki I have one of those. Can’t drink cold water now due to medication I’m receiving. Drinking cold water can cause peripheral neuropathy in the throat. But the Yeti definitely works, I was drinking cold water in the summer and it would keep for hours.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@iamnikki Thanks

Fill your thermal water tumbler (Yeti or otherwise) with ice and keep adding the water to it through the night…? The ice will keep all night long.
Or, fill a plastic water bottle about 1/3 of the way, lay it on its side in the freezer (I usually tilt it at a diagonal) and just top it up with water once it’s frozen….take those to bed with you (You can do multiples if you need to)
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
You could buy a steel insulated container and chill the water in that and drink from it. It will keep water cool a long time. Add some ice to the water to keep it even cooler for a longer time.

“All the way downstairs ?” . Never heard that distance referred to as “all the way” unless you’re talking about a 6 floor walk up .
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@AthrillatheHunt It's a lot of steps and tbh, not worth he back and forth in the middle of the night for a cup/bottle of water. I take a lot of meds too ( a lot of health issues) so that may not be the best option.
pdockal · 56-60, M
room temperature is better then ice cold
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@pdockal oh lol. Yeah I have heard that it's better for digestion too.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@sweetiepoo

That it is
So your problem is solved
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@pdockal the Chinese have been saying that for 5000 years.
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
Freeze half filled bottles of water and ad water to them as needed should last you a few hours.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@goodlil666 Thanks. I just don't have much room in the freezer.
Convivial · 26-30, F
Like others have suggested, an insulated drink container will work well and be the the cheapest and easiest approach
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
My kid and wife both use those YETI insulated containers and they seem to keep things cool for hours and hours.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
a yeti will keep water cold for a pretty long time
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@Pretzel thank you
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@sweetiepoo any time- hope your recovery i so going well.

A little lemon in the water if it is not contraindicated
itsok · 31-35, F
I have a tabletop ice maker, would that work?
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@itsok It's funny that you mentioned an ice maker. We bought her one but she can't find it. lol. If we got her another one, that could possibly work if I put the water in a cup, or maybe even a small cooler like a few other's have mentioned.
Dawgsfan3 · 41-45, M
Maybe see if you can find a small insulated bag you can put ice In
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
Well why not get one of those britta water bottles and run the tap till cold water flows and refill you water bottle when it gets too warm!
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@DiegoWolfe yeah. I was thinking about that and one or those insulted cups.
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@sweetiepoo Personally id suggest a 36-46 oz yeti bottle, its what i have and ypu can actually buy a filter for the top to keep the ice down when it starts to float and shift
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@DiegoWolfe Thanks a lot of people have recommended a Yeti
My yeti keeps my water cold a long time.
Jonjdw · 46-50, M
Maybe a cooler
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@Jonjdw thank you

If it's cool outside, and there is a ledge outside the window, put bottles out there.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@Ontheroad the window has a screen that can't be removed and no ledge, thanks though.

Mini fridge
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@SW-User Thanks I don't have room for that though.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@SW-User There is a lot of furniture and boxes in the room I'm in as I'm still in the process of moving and my mom has some things stored in here so unfortunately a mini fridge isn't an option at the moment.
edmister · 31-35, M
thats not good
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
Dorm/hotel fridges don't really take up a lot of space, they are light enough they can sit on top of an end table. Here is one for less than $100 you can have shipped free to your local Walmart to pick up there.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@NativePortlander1970 Thanks so much, I am temporarily staying with my mom. There isn't space even on the dresser. Both my and her stuffed are stored in here. I really do have min. space, buy maybe a small bag/cooler with a yeti that many people have suggested might work. Thanks again.
@sweetiepoo You're so very welcome :) I know the feeling, my mother's the same way.
