Last night I went into a little italian pizza restaurant that does takeaways too and ordered a woodfired pepporami pizza with red onion, olives, chilli and extra cheese. Then i sat in the park opposite and ate it with some cold wine. Gee it was lovely.
Have been doing that even in my twenties and ever since.
It's interesting what type of people you eventually will meet. It does take time, because the regulars will eventually talk to you after a period of time. Give it a number of weeks though.
The regulars are usually the safer ones. They have more to loose, since they still want to keep on going there.
Also why they are trusted more by the whole staff. A regular isn't going to annoy other customers or walk out on their bills. They watch others first, unobtrusively.
If you pay attention, you will know the regular customers. As is your "eye candy" is currently an unknown.
I used to travel a lot on my own for work - id find myself in cities around the world. Dinner? Yeah, go out, start to talk to people. It’s a great way to just expand horizons
Sometimes going out alone is the right thing to do - after all we don't need an audience. I sometimes go have pub meals and a beer or two by myself instead of cooking at home. I live by myself except when my 5 y/o daughter is staying with me.
