These are the differences between that vid and my cakes; If I am using sweet turnips instead of radish, I shred them first and boil them then dry them from water. I also precook shrimps and use whatever mince I have. (He uses dry shrimps) . Pork mince tastes the best, also cooked in a pan with spices and onions. (Sautee) I make all of that then add it to that mixture of rice flour. I don't use chicken broth powder. He is using chinese sausages. I don't do that either.
True, rice flour has to be tagged as "gluten free" in the package. Because it can be cross contaminated (rare but possible)
You can also make your own rice flour if you have small grinder/mill. Even the tiny mill for spices can do it.
Another substitute which I do sometimes for all recipes when I run out flour is using cooked rice. Let it dry well over night in the fridge. And just add cornstarch and it will bind in the turnip cake. You can also mash it in food processor. It really is the same as rice flour.
