Latest Acquisition - Monkey Shoulder

This is a blend of several Speyside single malts, and as such it's much lighter and less smoky than the Islay example I discussed last time. I'm not knowledgeable enough to say what distilleries went into this mix. It's definitely not as sweet as Johnnie Walker Black (the only other blended scotch I've had recently), possibly as Monkey Shoulder is marketed as a mixer. I wouldn't use this in a mixed drink; once you're adding other ingredients, it doesn't really matter if the base is any good or not. It's fine, certainly inoffensive - there's nothing to dislike here, but otherwise not a whole lot going on. That being said I probably won't be getting it again.

Scotch and Irish whisky is vile.

Any whisky is vile.
@SW-User Well, fine. My son took one sip of my An Oa and said it was horrible. A lot of people don't like the strong flavors. That being said, there is a place for vodka.
