It's not hamburgers, those roots stem from Germany.
It's not pizza, that stems from Italy

If you ask me, the most genuinely american food is alien jerky. Tell me, where else in the world will you find this?

weirdly, that kinda tracks. I think I recall that jerky was a native american thing first, although it seems to be kinda contested if you do google searching... Pemmican would certainly be and it's a close relation, at least.
