Is there a way to clean prongs of coil stovetop?

I accidentally have spilled food on the prongs on stove coils. If it isn't supposed to get wet, how can I clean them?

The coil can be usually be removed and cleaned with scrubbie/cleaner as long as no sensors/control unit on the coil.
