@Threepio My step mom was from the Philippines. Balut was one thing I never tried.
@QueenOfTheNerds It's hard to get past the "thought" and the "crunchiness".... But once you do, it isn't bad flavor. It is just a different kind of egg.
Balut is consumed in high amounts within countries in Southeast Asia, including Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. Most Westerners can't get past the visual....LOL

@Threepio It’s not the visual that bothers me, it’s the texture. Living in the US, she didn’t get them very often.
