i spent over an hour hiking to and from a grocery store for fresh produce.

I really like Walmart in general, but their produce really isn't the best. Like if you go buy a sack o' potatoes at Walmart, you can bet your ass at least one of them will be completely rotten. This walmart worker I met on grindr actually said it's 'cause of the way they store them, apparently they sit in the back for too long or somethin'.

In any case, going on that journey was well worth it for some fresh, beautiful carrots, celery, kale, and onions. 💗 I couldn't even completely fit it in my strawstring bag, so there were carrot steps and kale leaves sticking out behind my head as I walked. 🤭

Maybe it's a psychological thing, but I think it made for a better lentil soup today. The carrots looked so much more wild and 'real.'

@hotarabgirl one thing I really hate about produce at grocery stores in general is that they spray their vegetables with water even though it makes them spoil faster. they do it 'cause it makes them prettier and more likely to be purchased. I'm not sure I've ever seen a grocery store that doesn't do that, but walmart is doubly guilty for their awful stocking of produce.
