Good choice on staying away from lower Broadway restaurants. I live in Nashville. There are plenty of meat-and-three restaurants outside of downtown. Also, places other than Hattie B’s to get hot chicken.

Hattie B's is the honestly best there is. It's consistently tasty and juicy, if you're just looking for good chicken. There's even a non-spicy option for people who don't do spice. At least half their sides aren't all that great though. But in terms of tasty chicken, all other recommendations are sub-par. The only better "hot chicken" (which is a funny term made up for the tourist industry that no one in Nashville had ever heard of before about 15 or 16 years ago) would be in someone's kitchen in their home.

Did you make it to Nashville? Where all did you go & where did you eat? Fun town! I’m about 50 miles south of there.
