How do you make & take your coffee or tea?

What are we talking? French press? Drip? Keurig? Leave a teabag in a stained mug for an hour? Measured & timed pourover? Beg a nice barista?

Stove top percolator or a pour-over preferably. Drip when I'm lazy and want quick medicinal coffee. Have a french press and vaccuum pot for fancy occassions.

I take coffee very seriously. No cream, no sugar, none of that Euro-trash dark roast shit. High caffiene smooth and mellow blonde to medium roast. Coarse grind.

@MethDozer Hell yes this is what I'm talking about. I go between french press and pourover according to whatever I'm feeling. A few friends of mine in town make pilgrimages to a decent roaster in Edmonton to stock up on good blonde coffee. Also burr grinder, although my grinder is a cheap POS it's technically a burr grinder.

@CountScrofula At the risk of getting snooty. The dark roasts have a less of a flavor profile to me and more they have no kick, noooo kick.
8 O'Clock freshly ground is honestly my favorite. I've had and sometimes get stuff that's better from boutique roasters but they usually aren't that much better in relation to the price. Especially how much I drink. Don't get me wrong I drink a fair amount of Folger's, hence the medicinal drip. If I'm just filling my to-go mug or keeping my work mug full it's sitting around and getting cold anyway and the extra quality and slower processes aren't really worth it then It's shotgunning $30+ wine.

@MethDozer Dark roasts taste like dark roast, rather than tasting like the bean. So ignoring just caffeine content, you can actually taste what's going on in the coffee if you have a lighter roast.

My big thing is the boutique roasters is the only way I can get lighter roasted coffee in the area. If I go to the grocery store, it's always med-to-dark roasted. Also knowing someone isn't getting murdered for my coffee is nice.

That said the boutique roasters also tend to have more distinct flavours. Which means I sometimes find shit I profoundly do not like. But hey, it's fun.

@CountScrofula Totally agree on all points.

I keep various grades of coffee around is what I meant. Sorta like a trustifarian has 40 kinds of weed collected in jars.
