Do you have a medical background?

@SwampFlower not at all. I鈥檓 just looking at what other nations are applying in response to the disease. They say it has a success rate in China. So maybe in the USA we should take a look.

@Temporallube Okay. My husband was talking about this and said they aren't treating the actual virus with immune suppression. What's happening in severe cases is called a cytokine syndrome, where basically the immune system starts attacking the lung tissue instead of the virus.

There is still much confusion about how all of this works even in "on label" diseases. Hopefully they can figure something out soon.

@SwampFlower Cytokine Syndrome. I鈥檝e never heard of that. Attacking the tissue? Wow. Isn鈥檛 that the same way cancer behaves?

@Temporallube It's more like autoimmunity, I think.

@SwampFlower i hope something useful happens in the research for the doctors that鈥檚 putting in work. And much respect to your husband in what he鈥檚 contributing to the fight 馃檶馃徑

@Temporallube Oh, he's not on the frontlines of this at all. He's an environmental scientist and actually taking some time off to look after me right now, lol. He's just ridiculously smart and understands the technical parts of this.
TemporallubeM
@SwampFlower Big Brain? Environmental scientist? Taking care of a plant in the swamp? It鈥檚 a match made in Botany 馃槩

@Temporallube When put like that, it does read a bit like a fairy tale. 馃榿
