I keep them in a kitchen cupbord. There is really no need to put them in a fridge. I learned the following from an egg/chicken farmer.
Eggs only go off when the yolk touches the shell. The yolk sinks very slowly through the albumen. When you bring your eggs home just turn them all over 180°. The yolk will then slowly start to sink towards the other end of the egg causing them to last much longer. Since I've been doing that I have not had one rotten egg.
Doing the same will also keep your yolks intact.
