Do you tip at non-sit-down restaurants?

I just ordered at Quiznos (a fast food place that sales sub sandwiches) and it forced me to leave a 10% tip. I usually push no tip when ordering at these places in person because who is it going to? Maybe I shouldn't, but I don't think I should be forced to tip either.

As far as tips go it's not something I do often because I just can't afford it, but for the most part I don't think giving out a tip should be mandatory. To me, it has to be earned. You don't just get a tip because you want one. There is a place in my hometown that takes a tip off of your credit/debit card without asking and apple bees does it too.

@butterfly1013 Wow I didn't know Applebees did that

@coffeedimplez Probably depends on the location or who's working at the time. I didn't know they did that either till I got my receipt back. It literally says that they took it upon themselves to take a tip from my card and it says how much they took and everything.

I think I just tip based off of the personal experience I have at the counter. Like if the guy at Pizza Hut take-out recognizes me without having to give my name...or the food preparer at Subway was just especially friendly. It's not as big of a tip as I do at the sit-down places, but it's something.

Usually not. I tip at places with waiter service but not to order at a counter.
