Culture question, how long does a family meal last in your family

So I've always wondered this. How long has family gatherings/meals lasted? Are there similarities between cultures or does it just vary from family to family? I come from a Russian family and our meals usually last a minimum of four hours. Are other russian familys the same? Do other cultures do the same? What is your culture, your family do? Share your culture and the time. It's just interesting to me. About an average time, or time you mostly do with your family. I don't mean two people like average meal, like when it's a sit down with few people.
