At first I thought it said "Do you like chain restraints" and my answer would be "no, I prefer other materials"

But then I saw my error, I do like chains or mom & pop, both groups some are good some are not...

CharlieZ · 70-79, M
I find uncomfortable to have dinner while chained.
@CharlieZ 🤣🤣🤣

@latinbutterfly And the one million question!
If there is still soup in the plate...can I ask them to replace it?
Or I am supossed to have it after...that?

Oh my! The world is getting too complicate for a simple man!
@CharlieZ 😆

Some chains are better than others.
Chains like McDonald’s and kfc have killed the maw n paw restaurants in the smaller towns and cities..
@Wol62 Lucky you. My very first job was at a crappy Chicago Burger King 😂...summer of 1993 when I was 15.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@latinbutterfly LOL, well been there too, we used to do all the cooking in the back, it was a big kitchen with huge vats.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@latinbutterfly Well one kid was robbing from the family that run the restaurant when the owner and his wife were off, looking after their new baby. The rest of the staff found out and sorted it for him.
Effloresce · 26-30, F
I’m a sucker for chick fil a and tropical smoothie, but otherwise I like family restaurants too
@Effloresce Chick-Fil-A is definitely worth the price.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Franchises have become the lowest common denominator and the business model of milking someone elses cow.
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
Not particularly, I can generally cook better than most restaurants so it usually just ends up feeling like wasted money. Plus I don't like feeding the corporate consumerist machine either. I'll happily go to small individually owned restaurants though. There's a sushi shop near me that I absolutely adore whose owner is also the chef, super nice guy. Always like going in there and chatting with him.

Applebees my kids love applebees
@tiggerandariel13 They are pretty good, I'll admit. My kids really love Culver's.

Chains are so prevalent that every city has streets that look exactly the same. Drive into a city and it looks exactly like the last city.
@Pitchblue That's pretty much how my town is lol.
@latinbutterfly Totally killing all small businesses. Like when the first Walmart comes to town and wipes out 50 small family owned businesses in town. 1 store one massive parking lot and main street goes dark.

Some are pretty good. Some of the best ones around here are local chains (with a few locations) as opposed to national ones.

@LunaTheBonglord Definitely.
goliathtree · 56-60, M
I eat where the food is good. That is what keeps a place in business anyhow.
Davin · 36-40, M
I really can't go out and eat at restaurants but they are nice.
SW-User
No... I much prefer the independent family owned ones.
JeanAnna · F
Yes, some are great.
SW-User
Not a big fan.

I am all about seeking out the local joints whether I’m at home or on the road. Chain restaurants and fast food are only the absolute last resort.
GirlSerendipity · 26-30, F
me too generally but depends on which ones . . . went to 'texas roadhouse' like a few weeks ago and totally great!
GirlSerendipity · 26-30, F
not all chains are bad!! i like texas roadhouse!

Some chains are okay.
It depends on the chain. Some are much better than others. I just wish their existence didn’t sometimes drive family-owned restaurants out of business. 🙁
@bijouxbroussard Yep. Heck, where I live in the suburbs it's mostly chains. The best family owned restaurants are in the city, which in my case would be Chicago.
