So, Coke, Dr. Pepper and Pepsi are working to find ways to lower the (high) amounts of sugar-- do you believe that?

The commercial says: we all need to listen to mom. Then it "brags" that they have already come up with the idea of smaller servings....is that brilliant idea? Or do they need to go back to the drawing board? Smaller servings--less sugar! (Ta-da!) 😬

They just wanna sell a smaller can for the same amount of money.

@Danez I don't think they will ever replace sugar... so this "campaign" is not going to accomplish anything. If there were a really good sugar replacement, soda would be a good place to start.
They just consumers to keep consuming so they want people to think they care. @Danez

@Spoiledbrat just like the tobacco companies

@Danez I was going to make that comparison myself, but I thought it might get "booed." It's the same in that "we have an unhealthy product, but what can we do?" 🤷‍♀️

@PeachesGR honestly large companies have no problem selling items that they know are not good for you but make them millions $$$

@Danez Yes, I completely agree. It's just that since they put out this commercial of: we hear mom, and we're working on ideas to lower sugar.... to me means: yes, we will admit to a tiny bit of guilt about it.

@PeachesGR or just an attempt to gain sympathy and trust, because who wouldn’t trust someone that hears and respects the moms that do the grocery shopping and choose the best products for their families.

@Danez oh my
...*sigh

@Danez or add artificial sweeteners to maintain sweetness while lowering the amount of sugar.
PeachesGR · 61-69, F
@cherokeepatti Artificial sweeteners taste terrible, can have side effects and are over--sweet, so they're nowhere near combining them.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PeachesGR less detectable if they mix with sugar
