Yes great place, great food. Spent a couple of weeks there. Great memories ..... except for the Pisco.

@Heartlander clear grape brandy its too strong for my taste but pisco sour its quite good specially when i make it

I spent a few weeks in a previous life in Chiclayo. Also occasional stops in Lima. Beautiful country.

Wow, I was there like 55 years and 5 lives ago :)

At the time there was a cooperative/assistance program with the US to build roadways in the eastern, mountainous parts of Peru, with the heavy construction equipment being rotated in and out by aircraft. The Air Force base at Chiclayo was used as the staging/sorting area.

Flying out to the remote towns and villages was a treat. Peruvian pilots and navigators came along to help us through the mountain passages and valleys, as well as assist with translation and making us feel welcomed by the villages.

Thanks for resurrecting these nice memories.
