Has anyone done the whole 30 diet?

I'm thinking about giving it a shot, but it looks like it'd be difficult...

I haven't tried it but I would just try to type in different things like "whole 30 meal plans" and see what you get. There's loads of cookbooks and also people will offer meal plans for cheap but also for free. It def. requires searching out for the perfect one because you need to find what works with your schedule.

I find that always helps me to get some idea and if you find a meal plan that's better, you can swap out things you like for other things that are approved on whole 30 as well. It should be easier once you can write down some ideas.

I'd try searching things like whole 30 meal plans, whole 30 meal planning, easy whole 30 recipes, one pot whole 30 recipes, crockpot whole 30 recipes.. you get the idea.
@SatanBurger Today is day 24 for me. I have the cookbook and recipes from the internet. I thought giving up things like cheese would be a lot more difficult than it is. The difficulty is finding compliant food. You'd be amazed how much stuffs has sugar added... why add sugar to frozen chicken breast?

@SooperSarah Oh I know! It's SO hard, for some reason corporations are obsessed with putting as many processed things into your natural food as they can find. I have my own theories like coca cola once got in trouble in the news for hiring right wing militias to keep people from unionizing in Columbia:
In 2007, Chiquita Brands admitted in U.S. court that it paid nearly $1.7 million to paramilitary group over eight years. Other corporations including Coca-Cola and Drummond are now under investigation.
I really feel like they're out to kill us on purpose, no lie.. some bureaucrat is sitting around thinking that they should kill off all the poor by not giving us good sources of meat and instead a push towards major junk food instead.. really. 😂

I mean for real though, it's all about money, that's all it is about.
@SatanBurger But... we're the ones doing all the work and buying their crap. Don't they need us?

@SooperSarah Hmm.. do you have any butcher shops where you can get local? I'd try searching for that first and see if there's any legit ones that offer local or locally imported meat at least.

Anyways, this is just a suggestion, I'm not sure what your price range is but I used to have Butcher Box which has quality meat. It's pricey but the good news is you get a lot of meat and you can skip months so if you want to bulk buy by purchasing the larger box and then putting your subscription on hold or buy like every 2 months afterwards instead, you can do so and end up with quite a lot of meat lol 🤣

The upside is you get a lot of meat, the down side is that it's a bit pricey and I loved my custom box (where I get to choose the meat) but they had the same slices of meat every time so it got a bit tiring for me and decided to put it on pause for a bit.

But it might work for you, it is good quality and can get you through a few months of not worrying about it.

@SatanBurger I'll have to look into that! I live in a small town that has fast food and walmart to offer. You'd think there'd be that gem of a butcher shop in a place like this, but no such luck.

@SooperSarah Hey I don't mean to bombard your comment page but I found some extra links that may be worth checking into and wanted you to have them.

Omaha steaks has a 48 count Chicken breast for $99 (they also have less for sale as well in 4, 8, 12, 40 or 48 count packages.) Just thought I'd let you know since you're looking for quality chicken:

https://www.omahasteaks.com/product/Boneless-Chicken-Breasts-48-4-oz-41346?AID

And then also:

https://www.farmfoodsmarket.com/ (only offers beef sadly but they still look delicious.)

https://www.crowdcow.com/

I live in the same type of area which is why I started searching online for alternatives. Walmart and corporations tend to wipe out smaller farms because they can't hold up to the competition, I know what that's like and I know what quality of meat you're looking at which isn't ideal. I would say however that even if you can't find anything else, it would do in a pinch even if it's not allowed on whole 30. If you make up the bulk of your diet with whole veggies, preservatives are not ideal but it's better than falling off the wagon and you're still doing more than 80% of the population.

Next time you go to Walmart, just check out other people's carts casually, I bet you'll find not one of them contains things to actually cook while you do, that's what you have to remind yourself is why you are realistically eating this way. In the end, eating a wider variety of fruits, veggies, root tubers, meat and good fats will help you a lot whether at Walmart or elsewhere.
@SatanBurger You're absolutely right about about everyone's cart.
The cashiers even comment on how healthy the stuff I buy is. That tells me it must be pretty rare.
