I just ate at a pub and was surprised to find out it was vegan. The food was very tasty (and no, I'm NOT vegan) but I just want to know: Is there any proof that being vegan is actually healthier?
@blueberrycake I think it's more of a moral dilemma, for me it is anyways. I just don't see the need to murder anything when we have come far enough to produce enough food to meet the required calories needed to survive without eating something that was once a live.
I understand that. If it was up to me to hunt and kill for food, I would definitely be a vegetarian (or maybe vegan)...I carry bugs outside in cups rather than kill them! And it is true that a lot of people eat way too much meat. It's just hard to be vegan because you need to come up with all these meat (and dairy) substitutes.
I'm not really either in spirit, more just a conscious eater. I eat mostly vegetarian but i'll eat meat every couple of months if someone buys something for me/go out to a restaurant.
I've gotten mostly into east asian cooking/ramen. I think you have to to actually make it interesting, it's also very healthy and tasty.
Thai curries are nice especially with cashews, stir fries, most things with chillis in them.
