@bijouxbroussard A friend of mine has a hobby farm. Around 25 ducks and 20 chickens and the roosters were getting out of control. We also did a few quail.

@CountScrofula Oh, okay. My maternal grandmother grew up on a farm and occasionally even when I knew her would go out and kill one of the chickens she raised, with her bare hands. As much as I loved her fried chicken and gumbo, I hated helping prepare it with the chicken I鈥檇 seen her kill earlier. I know that was dumb, [b]that鈥檚[/b] where all food that was once living and breathing has [b]always[/b] come from.馃槒

@bijouxbroussard Right! And that mental leap from animal to meat is hard for a lot of people, even if you rationally know it.
