Do the Mexican restaurants in your area give free chips & dips?

They do in Oklahoma when you buy an entree. The waiter brings the chips & dips (cheese dip & assorted salsas plus most also bring warm tortillas & butter) as soon as you get seated and keeps the refills coming. Is this a common practice at the Mexican restaurants where you live (if you live in another state besides Oklahoma)?

I don't eat in restaurants, but it reminds me of when I first moved out west. My girlfriend sang in a Mexican restaurant and the first time I went in there I was brought a basket of tortilla chips and a bowl of salsa. I dipped a chip and couldn't understand why anyone would eat that, it burned my mouth so bad I had drink a whole glass of water. A couple months later, I was scooping up as much salsa as I could get onto a chip!

I usually take the Queso dip and add a couple of spoons of the red hot salsa to it and mix it up, makes a tasty cheese dip. It is easy to get hooked on.
