Do you perform food experiments?

Are they more successful than not or the other way around?

My smoked gravy experiment was a huge success, turned out looking really nice(no lumps, creamy texture) and tasted delicious. Thought it might be a little overpowering with the smokiness but it was actually quite subtle and picked up more flavor from the turkey brine than the apple smoke in the smoker. Served it with garlic mashed potatoes, some of the smoked turkey and wilted spinach.

I once did baked vegetables, steam cooked rice mixed with chicken broth, seasoned chicken cutlets and some random one-the-fly sauce and it turned out looking like what you make so simply there >_>
